RED SEA :: SAFAGA

Located 53km south of Hurghada, Safaga acquires its unique character from both its port and the small surrounding tourist village.
The black sand dune beaches characteristic of Safaga are a favorite spot for sun bathers. Plus, the water is known to have a high content of saline and is beneficial for the skin.
Diving holidays in Safaga
Safaga is a great place to dive. Some divers even claim Safaga's offshore reefs offer better diving than Sharm el Sheikh or Hurghada. The reefs are still relatively unspoiled and have not suffered from the masses.
As shown in our dive sites map of Safaga, most dive sites can be reached by day boat, less than one hour to the inner reefs and between one and a half to two hours to the outer reefs. Diving centers in Safaga, Egypt, will gladly accommodate experienced divers as well as beginners who want a scuba diving certification.
There is something here for everybody: manta rays at Sha'ab Saiman, the eel garden at Gamul Kabira, blue spotted stingrays at Tobias, sharp drop-offs at Abu Kafan, the anemone city at Panorama Reef. There is nothing like a night dive at Sha'ab Sheer or the sight of huge Salem Express lying on its starboard side.
Safaga Hotels
Hotels in Safaga offer an assortment of accommodation choices, from small quaint settings to five star resorts. Room rates in many Safaga hotels are extremely reasonable and provide plenty of options for those traveling to Egypt.
Hotels are usually outfitted with diving centers equipped to teach courses or organize daily diving excursions.
Safaga is well known for having some of the most unpopulated dive spots in the Red Sea:Sha'ab Saiman, Gamul Kabira, Tobias, Abu Kafan, and Panorama Reef.
Most Safaga hotels offer their guests a wide selection of activities, from windsurfing and kayaking to horseback riding and golf. Additionally, you will find many restaurants and hotel bars suitable for all tastes.
The excursion desk at any one of the Safaga hotels can recommend and arrange trips to a group of interesting historical sights, which can be seen in a day. Some of the places of interest include: Mons Claudianus, Myos Hormos, Bir Umm Fawakir and Mons Porphyrites.
